The A33 can be operated from AC or DC power.

 
1. For AC operation, connect the AC power adapter and press the Power button on the top of the unit.
 
2. For DC operation, slide the Main Power switch on the right side of the A33, under the flap, to the ON position.  Then press the Power button on the top of the unit.
 

When the unit is powered on, the Power button illluminates in an amber color.  During charging from the AC adapter, the Power button will display red during charging and go to amber when recharging is complete.

When operating under battery power and the battery charge has decreased to approximately 20% remaining, the Power button will slowly fade and brighten in red over a 2 second cycle.  This continues until the battery is exhausted or the AC adapter is connected.

When operating from the AC adapter (with the Main Power switch on the right side of the unit in the OFF position), the Power button will momentarily flash red about every 50 seconds.  This is normal and occurs when the unit is fully charged and indicates that the AC adapter is still connected.
