What is the proper way to package an optical discs for return for analysis?

Follow the return process as instructed by the Support Agent and securely package the discs being returned.

Spindled Product:
Use the same spindle the discs came in and place the failed discs at the top of the spindle and leave the unused discs beneath the failed discs. Mark the failed discs by marking on the OUTSIDE of the spindle (on the cover) the number of failed discs within.
Return ONE spindle (regardless of the total number of spindles purchased) to the lab.

Note: Please DO NOT mark up the disc. All customer data is considered strictly confidential and safeguarded in secured laboratories during analysis.  At the conclusion of analysis samples are either returned directly to the customer or destroyed via our secured waste stream ensuring privacy.

Secure the cover and place a piece of tape that crosses the bottom of the spindle and half way up each side. This will keep the cover securely in place during shipping. Place the spindle in a box large enough to fit it and place crumpled newspaper or bubble wrap around it to keep spindle from moving around inside the box. Use supplied label and ship.

Jewel Case Product:
Place the failed discs at the top of the stack of jewel cases and leave the unused discs beneath the failed discs. Mark the failed discs by marking on the OUTSIDE of the jewel case.

Note: Please DO NOT mark up the disc. All customer data is considered strictly confidential and safeguarded in secured laboratories during analysis.  At the conclusion of analysis samples are either returned directly to the customer or destroyed via our secured waste stream ensuring privacy.

Secure the stack of jewel cases by wrapping a rubber band or piece of tape around the entire stack. Place the stack of jewel cases in a box large enough to fit it and place crumpled newspaper or bubble wrap around it to keep it from moving around inside the box. Use supplied label and ship.

Discs must to be in the same state as when the problem was experienced the issue to enable recreation of the situation the customer is experiencing. Additional markings to the discs, fingerprints, scratches, broken discs, etc. will hinder the failure analysis process.
